Ever noticed the “Buyers who have bought this, also bought…” section under Amazon.com’s product pages? That was a rhetorical question because almost everyone who has visited an e-commerce site would have most likely seen one.
Other websites such as eBay and Newegg have similar scripts, but if what I have read serves me right; Amazon was the first website to implement it.
So, why not a similar script for WP-blogs; where users can view “Readers who read this page, also read…?“
We all know of WP-Plugins such as Popular Posts and Yet, Another Related Posts that expose the reader to as much relevant content as possible. This is absolutely vital to both; to pick up new loyal readers and also help find content on your site.
Personally, I find myself clicking through relevant links to view more content — than actually searching it up (unless on Google of course) but I don’t really use the search engine on a site, to find content within the site. This is why I love the above two mentioned plugins.
But the bad thing is — its become boring. Almost every blog has the same script and it’s quite obvious that you are using it. It’s not, by any means, a horrible looking piece of scripting but every now and then; it helps to mix things up a bit…
Where did they go from here — is a unique WP-Plugin that adds a whole new dimension to related content from a user perspective. The non-intrusive scripting tracks which pages were viewed in which order, both successor and predecessor pages are counted. Using this data from previous visitors, the script can suggest further reading to your new readers.
You can read the mechanism behind the plugin and a lot more key features about the plugin; including its installation process over at the official site.
PS - As noted by the developers; it will take some time for the table to populate. Which means, at first you won’t see any results because the script has to actually record some non-intrusive data to produce results.
Kudos to Tanya Jody for the image.

It’s Alex, and thank Janith for writing it.
I used to have this plugin on my blog, but then I went and removed a number of plugins when I had problems. Forgot to bring this one back. Thanks for the reminder.
