Interesting post and some good advice. But I must disagree with your comment on the "Wisdom of the Blindfolded Archer". In Japanese archery the archer virtually always hits his target blindfolded. Yet he doesn't look at the target. Why is that? Precisely because he has evolved himself to not be concerned with the issues you cite in the paragraph. They are merely a distraction. We are likely saying the same thing - get clarity. In an age of too much media (Twitter, Blog readers, etc...) of information overload it is hard to have that kind of clarity. Ignore some of things (both your points and mine) and you will get the clarity. And it will make for a better writing experience.

I like the point about intellectual capacity very much. I never think of it in this way.

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it a lot. As my experience in blogging increases, so is the lessons I learned. There are many mistakes blogger tend to fall for and many times I find my self on such a path. But then it dawned on me that blogging reflects our character, even if we try hard to conceal it. What I offer to my readers are my genuine thoughts which may give benefit for the understanding of things. :-)

I have never visited your blog before but came here via kikolani's fetching Friday post, and am I ever glad I did. Your post contains excellent observations, food for thought and advice.

Unless we are prepared to delver the goods in our posts, passionate about our subject matter , we are truly well grounded in the subject matter we will never be "successful". Blogging is competitive and as blogging becomes more and more a means of making an income online for a growing number of people, all bloggers are under increasing pressure to create a charismatic online presence. If we lose our sense of balance, and cross the “to thine own self be true” line online, in order to secure friends, readers and/or customers by projecting a phony “nice” personality we will sacrifice authenticity. Consequently, for bloggers it’s equally important that we manage our online presence in a manner that’s respectful of others, while still remaining true to our passion and to ourselves.

When people hear of intelligence, they always associate it with high IQ. I don't want to measure intelligence by IQ alone because that would be unfair to ordinary people. Actually, there's no argument that people with high IQ does better, but I don't want to emphasize this fact. We all have intelligence; unfortunately, few believe they have. :-)

That's another advantage of blogging. You learn new words even if you have to run to get a dictionary.
