Using Yahoo! Answers to gain Targetted Traffic

by Janith

Yahoo!Answers is an online community, where people can ask, answer and find out questions that they might have over a range of topics. You don’t need to think outside the box to work this one out, it’s simple. Someone’s looking for a specific answer to a specific question, and if you provide them with the correct information, they are likely to follow it up by visiting your site (most of the time).

However, it’s a bit easier said than done. The trick is to spread the word about your site but not to spam and oversell. Those users that go around posting answers with 5 word answers, and an external link will eventually get banned or blacklisted.

Your best bet would be take the time to figure out what the person’s asking and try to answer it to the best of your knowledge. If you can’t answer it with something useful, DON’T. Also, another good tip to stay on the “good-side” is not to implement links to every answer you post, in a way pressuring the reader to visit your site.

The aim of the game, is to get voted for “BEST ANSWER” and you’ll get more exposure and reputation amongst your fellow Yahoo!Answers’ peers. If executed properly it will give you some targeted traffic because the user is interested in your niche/information.
