Today I’ve decided to not post an insanely awesome article here, because I need your help. I don’t know if you have noticed this, but lately I have been the only one posting here (with the exception of our guest posters) and it’s a little tough on me. But it’s not like I’m the only blogger in the world who feels overwhelmed.
Usually, the other admin here, Janith and I would switch off on the days for posting. But lately, has been very busy with his school work to post here and I am trying to balance out the time I spend between school, non-school activities, and Blogussion.
The time I have been spending here on Blogussion has not been focused on creating content, but working on the new design I have been talking about. I think one reason that I am having trouble writing by myself is because of my eagerness to finish the design and get it out of the way. I have been trying to spend an equal amount of time on both, but in the end I’ve always ended up working on the design more than new content. That’s my fault, and I am going to try and get better at that. But with plans of launching the design in the next few days, it may not be as big of an issue as I thought.
So, what do you want?
While I’m saying all of this, I want to ask if there is anything specific you would like to see posted here. If you haven’t noticed, the last few articles I have written here all touch on the same subject, and I want to start writing about some things a little more different.
If there is anything you want, like a tutorial on how we did something here, or if you have a question you want answered, or if you want us to start writing more posts on a certain subject then post it all in the comments.
The New Design
So, I am currently updating our look here. Don’t worry, the theme will still have the same colors, feel and for the most part – the same layout as we do now. I have gotten so many nice compliments and critiques on the current design now, but I honestly feel that this new one will blow it miles away.
What to Expect
Like I said, I am just changing the layout of things to make it more neat. Here are the areas which are being changed the most:
- Header
- Major Sidebar Overhaul
- Post Display
- Comments Section
- Simplified Footer
It seems like a lot, but I think you will love what has been done. 
Oh, by the way: We will be running on the super awesome Thesis Framework. You know it’s serious when Thesis gets put into the picture.
Teasers
I have shown a few people the full design, and those people loved what they saw. Now, I am going to post some cool little teasers for you guys. They don’t really give much away, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise.

I too am soon to unleash a majorly upgraded design. I love my house, so I figured it’s an awesome idea to add on instead of going totally new. Why build a new house, when you can just add rooms?
As for content, how’s your knowledge of affiliate marketing and or social networking? This is also the 2 main areas in which I seek guests.

I totally agree with you, awesome analogy by the way. I once read in an article somewhere that “Good designers redesign, great designers revise” and that is what I am looking to do here; revise.

Alex, regarding the posts, try doing something about Twitter. It’s a really huge thing now and is a great way of social networking… I reckon a series on it with the articles you write could be HUGE. Also, some of those lists you do would be good
Regarding the design, it looks very nice indeed, and that’s just from 3 tiny pictures! Can’t wait to see the final design. What do you plan to do with the old one?

The old one will probably just sit on my hard drive gathering dust. Maybe somewhere down the line I will make an inspired theme for free. I know a lot of people love our design, and I think it would be cool for people to be able to use a mockup of it. Would actually be a great freebie.
It would be a BIG shame if it just sat there doing nothing.
A similar theme (or that one
) being released free would see massive downloads IMO as it’s one of the best (if not THE best) theme I’ve ever seen. Encrypt your link into the footer and watch the traffic/backlinks roll in 
Maybe you could release it premium theme and earn something from it? Obviously I should get a free copy because it’s my idea.

You already know what I think about the design!
As for content, I think you should do something like Dennis said and write something on the importance of affiliates, and how to recognize a good affiliate.
Right now, I can’t think of any other content ideas, you guys pretty much have filled my head with great ideas already!
Remember that this is a blogging related blog though. Personally I’m not too keen on affiliate marketing (although different people like different things), and would much rather see new ways to advertise your blog and network with other bloggers.
But then, it’s Alex and Janith’s choice

True, but you can never have too many contacts. They are very helpful in getting traffic to your blog and are great for advertising help. If you gain some interest with an affiliate, they may just place a link or something on their blog.
However, more ways on helpful advertising sounds good to me!
Hey Evan did what happened to your site? Did 000Webhost get you? I wrote a Worst of the Web review about them. If you are still interested in blogging I would be willing to host the URL for you. You would have to pay for the domain though.

You said above that you might offer this as a template. If you are please tell me. As I told Teen Pro Blogger( I think I told him) I think your blog is one of the best looking I have ever seen. I really have no idea, but I don’t want to be selling off the Blogussion image in it’s truest form. Besides, there is so much room for improvements on this current design, so any changes would be made for the best anyhow. :p
Yea, sorry I haven’t been on recently. I have been really busy with school. There giving us a ton of work to prepare for standardized testing. I’m in all advanced classes and it seems they’re trying to use us to higher the schools test scores.
Anyways, I can’t wait to Spring Break. I’m going to make posts like crazy, since I am injured and really don’t have much to do.
What do you think of my new name? Do you think it sounds a little pompous? I am by no means a web guru, but I think I am for a teen.

I know how you feel, school is just so overwhelming sometimes.
I guess you can classify yourself however you want, but unless your content is up to “Guru” standards then I would suggest you rethink that name. If it is, then stick with it, but always be careful of how cliche it can sound to some!

Lately I’ve been preoccupied with baseball and school and such so mainly I’m just trying to be active and guest post here, rather than running my own blog.
