It’s almost sad to see February come to an end, because Blogussion has been absolutely rocking in February. Old records have been broken, we have been growing faster than ever imagined and best of all, we have been making great friends through this blog. So, this is the second roundup post we have here.
Each month we want to go over all of our stats here to show you how we are holding up in the ever changing blogosphere. It’s not easy to survive in this niche, so we do all of this to prove to you guys one thing: we aren’t going anywhere any time soon, except to the top!
Subscriber Stats
Our subscription stats have been excellent by our standards this month. Our goal was to reach 100, and even though we did not reach 100 – we made it close. Every day our subscriber count has been increasing by a loyal few. There were only a couple days in February where we did not gain any subscribers, and lost some. Our current subscriber count is 80, with the highest amount reach this month being at 81. So what is our goal for next month? We are going to break 100, I know we will. It may have been too unrealistic to say we were going to do it in February, but I know we can break 100 in March!
Help us reach our goal! Subscribe now!
Traffic Stats
It is unbelievable how big of a jump in traffic we received here was. Our goal was to simply bring in more traffic than we did in January. We completely annihilated last months traffic stats. You can see February’s totals compared side by side to January’s to see how mercilessly February beat January!

So let’s try and beat February. It may be hard, but I think we can do it. Traffic is still steady, so there should be no reason why we couldn’t beat it!
Quick Fire Stats: The busiest day here was February 22nd with 3,862 visits. People visit us the most using Windows XP (15,092), Windows Vista (7,021), Windows 2000 (6,660), Mac OS X (2,568), and Linux (689) browsing with Firefox 3 (12,837), IE5 (6,598), IE6(5,943), IE7 (4,311) or Firefox 2 (1,235) as their browser.

Guest Poster: Ali Hussain
We had one guest post this month, and it got a pretty good response. The post, entitled Questions to ask yourself when choosing a template was written by Ali Hussain from Techuse. It is a pretty straightforward post, and really helpful. Thanks again Ali, we hope to see you in the future.
The Best of the Blogussion community
The most commented on post was called 45 Link Building Tips To Help You Promote Your Blog. A really cool list of 45 tricks written by Janith to help you build links on your blog. Coming in second place by just 4 comments fewer is the list I wrote called 100+ Lists To Help You Become A Better Blogger. Both posts did fantastic on Blogussion, and we are really happy to have written them. The comments in those posts really bring out the best of our community, so check them out when you get a chance!
Poll Breakdown
The question this month was “How many blogs have you guest posted on?”. In Jaunary, we talked a lot about guest posting. So we wanted to do a little poll and see how many of you actually made a guest post elsewhere. I have to say I was shocked. Out of 29 voters,
- 18 of you have never made a guest post on another blog!
- 5 have guest posted on 3-4 blogs
- 5 people have guest posted on 1-2 blogs
- 1 person has guest posted on 5-6 blogs
- 1 person has guest posted on 6 or more blogs
We didn’t get many votes, but I was really surprised to see that the largest percentage of people who voted in the poll have never guest posted on another blog!
Be sure to vote in this months new poll “Do you reply to comments on your blog?”
Ad Stats
We installed OIOPublisher this month ([intlink id="2270" type="post"]read the review[/intlink]) and were pretty happy with the outcome. It made us money quick, and we have already made back triple the amount we paid for it (keep in mind we had a coupon!).
On Blogussion, we decided to offer a few forms of advertising:
- 125×125 Banner Ads (3 purchases)
- 250×250 Banner Ads
- Sponsored Reviews (1 purchase)
- Reviews by us
- Reviews by you
Keep in mind, our priority on this blog is not to make money. We just decided that to help us promote a little bit and give us a little more financial breathing space, we would put up ads. The money we make goes straight to Blogussion to enhance it in any aspect, so know that your money isn’t going to bad use when you buy an ad here!
The Review of RetireAt21
We reviewed a really cool blog called RetireAt21. It was our first review, and I think we did a good job reviewing it. You can read the review, or order a review for your website or blog on our Sponsored Reviews page.
Let’s make March the best month yet!
So, would you agree with me that for a blog that has been in existence for only 2 full months is having a great start? I think February really showed the fullest potential of the blog, and I bet that if we all work together then we can make Blogussion a huge hit.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for making February so wild!

You guys will get 100 subscribers in no time!
No problem man. Thanks, I hope we hit 100 too!
Glad to have mentioned you Evan, we have gratitude for our guest posters and have the utmost respect for them
Hopefully we break the 100 barrier within this month! It would be a great feeling
Good Luck! I’ll try and keep guest posting
Ali Hussain’s last blog post..Why Sponsor A Contest?
Will look forward to it Ali! Have any experience in Social Media? We are lacking a bit in that category, and any tips you have for it would be killer.
I’ll try my level best
Ali Hussain’s last blog post..Why Sponsor A Contest?

Stuart Conover’s last blog post..Buzzable – Twitter Groups Become A Reality
Thanks Stewart, that’s the plan for now.
Hey guys,
Looks like the blog is still going strong. Honestly, I think 100 is a little low for the subscriber target. Something like 125 may have been a little more challenging
Anyway, Alex, please reply to the email – haven’t heard from you.
Also, best of luck with the site and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the comment. Maybe we should shoot for 125. As long as we break 100, I’ll be happy.
I will get back to you on the email today. Sorry, I have been sitting on it for a bit.
At this rate, we might as well aim for a 1,000 – all in due time though
Even if we gain one subscriber, that’s a successful month for us ~ but the first time you break your count with an extra digit – it’s just something special.
Thanks for your praises man!
Nice! You got some promotional mojo flowin’, keep it up.
I’m looking for guest bloggers myself if you’re interested.
Dennis Edell’s last blog post..Comment Contest March – Sponsors and Prizes

Dot Com Dud’s last blog post..February Income Report
Thanks for the compliment, DCD
We get traffic from a variety of sources, but the main ones are;
- Organic Traffic
- StumbleUpon
- Several Webmaster’s Forums
- Digg, Reddit and some other social book-marking sites
- Quite surprisingly, we are getting a fair bit of traffic from Twitter too, in fact it’s in our top 3! Who said you can’t promote your blog with Twitter?
I’ve been tweeting quite a bit about Blogussion lately. I have about 400 followers, and also got some retweets. So yeah, Twitter is doing us some good!
It has been us a lot of good! Checking Google Analytics every now and then, it’s in our top 5 referrers
Nice work Alex ~ I’m not as Twitter-active as you are, but still plays a minor role
