I’ve been snooping on this blog for about a month now but I feel compelled to comment because you’ve pressed a familiar button for me. In the blogging world, I would be considered a “newbie”. I just started this past spring. For a period of time, I found myself tempted to check my stats everyday, perhaps 2 or 3 times a day. Something I discovered, though, is that despite extensive planning and quality posts, you can never guess how many hits one post will generate, as opposed to another. The other day, I posted randomly on a subject that I thought would only appeal to me (because I thought it was fun and interesting) but it was one of the more successful posts I’ve had in weeks. Go figure!

I check my stats a lot, but I don’t think I get the most I should out of the info in there!

PR is nothing to worry about. I’ve said it like a thousand times on this blog – PR is nice to have, and I see it as kind of a marker to show me how well I have been promoting my blog.

But who’s to say that having PR4+ isn’t awesome!?

Yep, people can be shallow and just totally blow off the blogger because of how low their numbers are. Kind of a shame really!

The only three important numbers to me are:

1. How much money I made in the previous month.

2. How many RSS subscribers I have.

3. How many people comment on the posts.

I think people stressing over their PR is also a big issue. I mean, worry about SERPs by all means, but it’s a bit OTT to get worried about your PR.

That said, I did get a smile when I saw my site had gone up to PR1
