You Can Now Follow @Blogussion on Twitter!

by Alex · 22 comments

Finally, I have gotten around to adding a Twitter account to Blogussion. I think it is one of those things to do for a little more reader connection, and that’s cool with me.

It is my belief that you should follow any one who follows you, and that’s what we will be doing with the @Blogussion Twitter account. I feel like we can really take the discussion up a few notches with this Twitter account finally set up, so hit us up whenever if you have any questions, or just want to talk to us.

So some of the other things I want to add that will hopefully increase the incentive for you guys to follow us and spread the word about our account to all of your friends are:

  • Get Updated When We Update Our Blog
  • Whenever Janith or I write a post, a link to it will automatically be posted on the Twitter account. I don’t know if the Twitter feed app we use updates faster than some RSS readers, but we’ll just have to see then. ;)

  • Get Posts From Other Blogs
  • Yeah, we will be linking to other blogs on Twitter. We want to provide you with other insights on blogging topics from other great blogging blogs like Blogging Tips (they also just set up their Twitter account @BloggingTipsCom), How To Make My Blog (@HowToMakeMyBlog), Blogsessive (@Blogsessive), and some others.

Like one of the amazing quotes in our sidebar says:

Link to your enemies. Link to your competitors. Link to everyone. Instead of being sticky, be linky

  • Fun Facts/Blogging Tips in 140 Characters
  • So we don’t seem to be like all we do is link to stuff, we will post some blogging tips on Twitter in 140 characters or less. Little “Quick Tips” I guess you could call them.

  • We WANT to Talk to You
  • Seriously, we aren’t going to be the typical blogging news feed! Send us some @messages and we will talk to you. We can discuss blogging, answer questions, take post requests, anything blogging related really.

Hope you follow us guys, we want to build a really cool blogging resource. :) Remember, we will follow you back if you follow us!

Using Twitter is really a smart choice in building a community. And I think it will really help your blog as it is helping me also.

(Alex I found one error in this post. You linked Blog URL of “How To Make My Blog” with BloggingTips twitter ID; which I think is the mistake)

Moving on; I will also suggest you to add the new Twitter ID field in the comment box like I did few days back. This will help your readers add their twitter ID while commenting. More info on it:

Hope you will find my suggestion useful :)
Thanks!

Ah woops, thanks for pointing out that mistake! I will fix it now.

You know, I have seriously been meaning to add that plugin here for a very long time! I have wanted to follow all of the Blogussion readers on Twitter, but I never actually took that plugin as seriously as I should have. Consider it done after I reply to some more comments here. :)

I have used Twitteriffic and Tweetie, but not TweetDeck. Is TweetDeck compatible with Growl?

OK what’s Growl?

I just use the one twitter account which is easy for me to run but it does force a lot of people away as they want to see tweets about how to make money, not how to make money and some personal tweets between me and friends.

Maybe a second one would not be such a bad idea.

Yeah Dean, that was one of my thoughts as well. I have my Twitter account as my name, and that would appear to be a more of a personal Twitter use instead of blogging or whatever. So I figured I would make a separate account and see how it goes.

What resolution do you use? Some of the stuff on the left is blocked off because I’m on the 1028 resolution.

I guess it just depends on how big your screen is to see. If you don’t mind, would you be willing get a screenshot? Just to see how cut off it is. and see if I can fix it.
