End of the month roundup: January 2009

Jan­u­ary has been an awe­some month here at Blo­gus­sion. New goals have been set, and our expec­ta­tions couldn’t be any higher for Feb­ru­ary. We are incred­i­bly happy with the way this blog has been going, and for that we thank all of our read­ers and sub­scribers who have made our first full month so great.

At the end of each month, I’ve decided I would make a post to go over with you our traf­fic stats, sub­scriber stats, top posts of the month, and other infor­ma­tion. Just to show you how good of shape we’re really in, and so we can prove we don’t plan on going any­where, except to the top, any time soon.

Sub­scriber Stats

The num­ber of RSS read­ers on Blo­gus­sion has been fairly high by our expec­ta­tions. I per­son­ally have never had more than 30+ sub­scrip­tions on a blog, so the num­ber we have now is one I am very happy with. As of Feb­ru­ary 1^st, 2009, Blo­gus­sion has 44 RSS sub­scribers. The num­bers have jumped all over the place this month, but it ended on a num­ber we are happy with. The most sub­scribers we’ve had at a time was 50, and we hope to dou­ble that num­ber to 100 by the end of February.

Traf­fic Stats

The traf­fic here has been great. We never really set a goal for traf­fic, but what we did get was pretty impres­sive by our stan­dards (and you have to remem­ber that we are both small bloggers).

A good open­ing for 2009. Think we can beat it? I say we can.

Quick Fire Stats: The busiest day here was Jan­u­ary 16, 2009 with 2,415 vis­its. Peo­ple visit us the most using Win­dows XP (6076), Win­dows 2000 (2321), Win­dows Vista (2198), Mac OS X (1084), and Linux (426) with either Fire­fox 3 (5440), IE5 (2275), IE6 (2055), IE7 (1039) and Fire­fox 2 (594) as their browser.

Com­mu­nity Overview

• 325 peo­ple have com­mented on our blog this month.
• Richael Neet was the most talk­a­tive of the bunch.
• “How would you like 59 Awe­some Ajax Scripts?” was our most viewed article.
• 31 arti­cles were pub­lished in January
• We had 2 amaz­ing guest posters on the blog
