There has been a lot under development over the last few weeks here at Blogussion. New ideas and old have started to begin developing, and we are just hitting a new level of what it means to really blog with each new development.
Today, we would like to present to you a new blogging guide we have come up with. It’s called “From Planning to Earning,” and it’s pretty in-depth if I do say so myself.
Myself and Seth Waite have been working tirelessly to bring this idea to reality, and basically you can look at it as a version 2.0 to the old, original blogging guide we had here not too long ago — which was incomplete and out of date.
What is “From Planning to Earning?”
You may or may not have caught it, but this guide is designed to help you get through the planning stages of your blog, and help you work your way towards making income from your blog. It’s not just focused on new bloggers either.
Beginners, middle aged, or even old bloggers can use this massive guide to help better their blogs. That’s one characteristic about this guide that I like the most — it’s really aimed for everyone.
The Special Format
The format of this guide is special. We have divided the guide into three separate parts. We did this so it will be easier for you to follow the guide, and you will be easier to distinguish what kind of information you are looking for. This is just one way the guide was really made for any blogger at any level.
Here is a brief breakdown of the three different sections:
The Blogging Guide
The Blogging Guide is the first step to using this guide. All the blogging guide is is a giant list of articles that have been published on Blogussion rounded up, organized and put in order from beginners articles to more advanced articles. The categories we have picked for this section are as follows:
- Introduction to Blogging
- Choosing the right setup
- Designing for your blog
- Learning Search Engine Optimization
- Writing Blog Content
- Marketing and avertising
- Expanding your blog
- Earning Revenue
We have a good collection of articles for most categories, but we are lacking a bit in a few. We do hope to populate those categories with few articles in them over time however.
Blog Setup
This is the part of the guide that is completely for the new bloggers. Existing blog owners may still want to check it out, as there are some useful tools in there that can still help you.
The format to this part is very well organized and we have compiled a list of recommended tools, services and extensions you can use to start your new blog. On each listing we have chosen at least four services, and out of those four, we have made a recommendation for you to look at, which is marked very clearly.
Earn From Your Blog
The final bit of the guide, don’t you know it — the part where you earn!
Just like the Blog Setup page, the Earning page has been setup just like it. We have compiled a big list of services we would use for making money from blogging. And of course, we selected a service which we recommend the most as it provides the most value out of the other services.
And Just to Top it All Off…
We thought what we have came up with was great. We created a directory of targeted articles, and a list of tools for setting up an earning from your blog. All of that is great, but we saw an issue with all of this.
Usability.
We have these pages, but how can we, more importantly, you ensure that these resources are being used properly and effectively? We came up with a simple solution to that, and we created a free workbook to go along with it.
The Workbook is designed to fill in any pieces from the guide and assist you in acting upon the all of the information. Learning is important and the guide is one of the single greatest ways to become a well educated blogger.
Doing all of the things you learn will be the difference between you knowing a lot and actually being successful. Whenever you see something in the guide you should be doing, do it! The Workbook is designed to walk you through the guide and assist you with calls-to-action to get you going.
Using the workbook as a companion to the guide will assist you in making the most of your potential.
We have worked hard on making the workbook not only functional, but extremely useful. It is a work in progress we plan on releasing whenever we come up with better ways to help you use the guide.

Comments, Questions, Critiques?
We would love to know how you used this guide. Did you like it or hate it? Do you think it can help you at all, and if it does — how is it helping you? Tell us any thoughts you have about this guide in the comments section below!
Stay Tuned — There’s More to Come!
As I said, much has been going on in the past weeks here. As we finish this development, we are in the midst of finishing something even more exciting. Expect an announcement sometime next week.

Great job. i think we will see more of this style in the future where people gather and categories posts within the same topic. I’m using a similar methods on my blogs but I’ve never made more of it than simply listed the topics beneath headlines.

I have seen that idea, and I think I got inspired from one of ProBlogger’ posts. I think he calls them “sneeze pages.”

Thanks Enk! We really made this guide try to work well for everyone, but it may appeal most to the new bloggers, mainly because of the workbook.
I notice you’ve linked your affiliates to most of the resources, however missed linking the aweber link, was that purposely or it slipped through?
Muzi Mohale´s last blog ..Emirates’ Johannesburg route, set to boast full Boeing 777 service
We didn’t make it every product an affiliate link, only a few we thought would be worth tracking. We may have missed Aweber however.
Nice idea, just downloaded the workbook, but I must say I found the amount of links I had to click through rather confusing. I see your point that this keeps readers longer on your site and increases the site content in Googles’ eyes, but from a readers point of view, I would prefer a simple download link to the whole guide. Not sure if I will take the time to click here from chapter to chapter ;-( SY
