Monetize your blog with OIOPublisher

OIOPublisher is one of the best ways to set up an advertisement system for your website or blog. We use this system at Blogussion, and we couldn’t be any happier with it’s easy to use system. The greatest thing about OIOPublisher is that this system cuts the middleman out and let’s you keep 100% of your revenue. So unlike services like Buy Sell Ads or Performancing Ads, you don’t have to worry about losing money you should never have to lose.

I just want to go over a few of the coolest things about OIOPublisher with you. I’m writing this for you because I want you to see this scripts potential to its fullest, and so you can make the choice to get it and make the most out of your blog advertising.

Basic Breakdown

If you choose to use OIOPublisher on a WordPress blog, you can just simply download the plugin and add it to your blog. I have seen and tried other ad platforms that require a whole lot more than just adding the file to my plugins folder, so I was pretty impressed with OIOPublisher in that perspective.

picture-5Once I installed that, a little tab on the bottom of your WordPress Administration will be created entitled “OIOPublisher”. That is where all of the settings can be found (there are also some things in the post screen section, but I haven’t tinkered with those yet).

These are the three panels you will be in the most with your OIOPublisher installation. A little overview of them:

  • OIOPublisher: Configure all of your OIOPublisher settings (API key, enable/disable, alerts, etc.)
  • Settings: This is where you add any Ad Zones for any form of advertising you want (text, banner, inline, posts) and also configure some other things such as your form of payment, and email templates for when someone uses the system.
  • Purchases: A detailed archive of every single purchase made with the system, as well as pending ads.

The 5 forms of advertising options OIOPublisher has are:

  • Text Ads: Sell links on your blog.
  • Banner Ads: Can be any shape or size. Image ads like sidebar ads (those 125×125 ads you see everywhere) are what you can control here.
  • Inline Ads: Put ads inside of your posts automatically. You have the ability to choose between RSS Feed, Video or Image Ad.
  • Post Ads: This allows you to sell reviews. Not to be confused with Inline Ads.
  • Custom Purchases: If you have a product you want to sell, you can automatically set options in here that will allow someone who has bought something to be able to download a ZIP file.

A great thing about OIOPublisher

Is it’s organization routines. You see, you can divide your ads into things called Zones. You use zones to manage your types of ads. For example, if you want to sell two different sized banner ads, you can divide the different sizes into different zones. You can name the zones, so your best bet is to name each zone by the size of the image if that is what you are selling (for organizational purposes).

5 other great things about OIOPublisher

  1. Built in Stat Tracker: Allows you to see how many impressions/clicks each ad on your site gets as well as other information like CTR (click-through rates) and others.
  2. Get your site listed in their Marketplace: You will be able to get your site featured in the OIOPublisher Marketplace where your site would be exposed to any advertisers browsing through the marketplace. Check our page out in the Marketplace!
  3. Built in help: Get help with anything you may not understand in with the built in documentation. All without leaving your WordPress Admin panel.
  4. Ad Server: You can set up ads to display on other websites by simply adding a line of JavaScript to the site. Pretty nifty option I’d say.
  5. Set up additional modules easily: You can extend the capabilities quickly and easy by adding some modules to your system. Modules such as Affiliates, Demographics, EntreCard payments (get paid in EntreCard tokens instead of real money), and many more.

OIOPublisher is not free. That would probably be too good to be true for a product like this. At the moment, OIOPublisher costs $47, but if you’re willing to make the investment and use the right as selling strategies, then I can guarantee you it will pay itself off. It already has here (I had a coupon when I bought it, but I have still made over $47 using it! :p)

All in all, I cannot recommend this product enough. It is so powerful, and so convenient. It has everything you could want and more in an ad system. Do you want to know how amazing it really is?

How amazing is OIOPublisher?

Once I installed it and got it all ready to be put out live on Blogussion, I was doubtful of me really making any money from it. I have never made a penny off of selling ads on any of my past blog, so obviously my hops were not high. But 5 minutes and one Twitter shout out later, the system had sold TWO ads and ONE Sponsored reviews. That comes out to be $65 in revenue — obviously paying off the initial investment ($22 with a coupon). That’s not a lot of money by any means, but I was flabbergasted quite honestly, and very happy that it was all automatically processed.

So have I convinced you to try out OIOPublisher? If you are serious about selling ads on your blog, then you need to try this out now! Get started with OIOPublisher today!

Very helpful, I think it’s great that you can just quickly add the OIOPublisher plugin right into wordpress. Seems very efficient, and congratulations on your profits!

Yes, I love the fact that it is so easy to install, yet it is probably one of the most feature rich advertising program on WordPress. :)

OIO is the next purchase on my list but like you were, I’m a little worried that I will not actually sell any ads and it wont be worth it. Hopefully I’m wrong too. Do you have any coupons on offer for a discount??

I think if you just play your cards right, and follow some basic monetization tips you should sell some ads. You won’t get rich selling ads obviously, but OIO makes the process easier, and convenience is a priority in selling ads.

I Google search “OIOPublisher February 2009 coupons” but all I could find was a coupon that expired February 9th. Sorry, maybe they will come up with a new one later in the month, or next month. :/

There’s only one way to be sure ~ but I think we took off on the right foot, because just a month in we have three dedicated sponsors.

Just make sure your site’s been up for some time, then write up a “End of Month Roundup” article (obviously work on your traffic first, so this post can be something to be proud of) then talk to people.

That’s the best way to get sponsors, even if your not the most booming blog – if you can make a few friends and get noticed; I’m sure there will be sponsors.

A good example of this is; R@21 sponsoring us. Alex and Michael have been discussing a lot of things lately, and even though R@21 are on a much higher ‘reach’ they wanted to be affiliated with us in this way.

Just don’t give up :)
Good luck!

Will it kill the SERP if the search engines catch you selling links?
I’m thinking of monetizing through textlinkbrokers, they have a feature for adding comments to the blogs to create links to their clients
