How to get your site indexed fast?

How to get your site indexed fast?

So, you’ve just got a blog launched and jumping up and down your seat? You should calm your nerves and funnel that adrenaline into getting more exposure! The most pursued way of getting traffic would be from Search Engines, because it’s one the most targeted methods of gaining traffic we know.

If a surfer searches for something, as in takes the time to type it in a small text-box that usually means they have interest in the keywords and is out on the hunt for information; your information.

Then again, it’s easier said that done. Just like you, there’s probably a million other bloggers trying to fulfill that surfer’s need — creating a competitive market. The most similar surfers searching with similar keywords will raise the competition in this market.

That was all common sense and well thought out, you might say? Of course, but the ultimate goal is to reach number on for a selected range of keywords. This takes time, effort and a lot of perseverance and won’t happen over night if your SEO work is legal. The first step would be to get yourself indexed, which means notify Google that your website is alive and is existent.

Whenever, I launched a new website — I follow a set of procedures that I want to share with you today. Well, once you have your website and content published you should follow these steps (in order);

1) Create an account with Google at Google WebMasters.
 – Verify your site
 – Submit you Site Map.

2) Signup for Google Analytics
 – Add the Tracking Code to your footer

3) Create accounts on as many social networks as you can using SocialMarker.
 – Submit Content Articles and share them around with your (online) friends and relatives.

4) Open up a Youtube Account
 – Upload relative videos and link back to your site (This has brought a lot of traffic over the years)

5) Add your URL to relative web-directories and forum signatures.

6) Comment on relative blogs but don’t spam and don’t forget to leave your URL!

8) Add your website to StumbleUpon!
 – Brings a constant flow of visitors that may/may not be interested in your topic. However, if your tags and categories are as specific as possible, referrals from Stumble can be very loyal.

7) Ping your site using PingGoat

Following those seven simple steps, I usually get my blogs indexed with 5 – 8 hours! Just make sure your titles, <h1> and <h2> tags are all properly fine-tuned. Also work with your robot.txt to “guide” the search engine crawler to index what you want them to index!

How to Blog December 25, 2008 at 4:43 am

My posts get indexed in under an hour. The best way i’ve found, is to write the post, and then immediately afterwards, to comment on a bunch of blogs. Sites like problogger and johnchow get indexed repeatably every hour, so if you have a comment on their with a link to your post, then it’ll get indexed very quickly. Just put as your url your latest post so that the spider finds you easier.

I don’t believe YouTube videos are great ways to get links, its too much effort and not enough exposure.

Other than that nice post!

On step 3,

Just tried all this except the Youtube part and Analytics on a new blog. Let’s hope it does work!

I have found that getting new blog posts indexed is easy once your site is indexed. However, getting your site indexed for the first time is the hard part.

Thanks,
Daniel

Great list of resources to promote my blogs. Just to add one more tool, I started using BlogBuzzer.com and have my blogs ping automatically when they are updated.
